1. A firm step toward sustainability.

This certification is more than just a label—it is a guarantee of transparency, consistency, and responsibility. It assures our clients and partners that Cerdá's stationery products are made using materials that respect forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and the rights of local communities.

2.  What is the FSC® Chain of Custody certification?

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is an international organization promoting responsible forest management worldwide. Its certification system ensures that forest-based products—such as paper, cardboard, or wood—originate from sustainably managed sources.

Within this system, the Chain of Custody (CoC) certification guarantees full traceability of FSC-certified materials, from the forest of origin to the final product. Every stage of the process—from suppliers to the company marketing the product—must also be certified.

3.  What does it mean to have earned it?

Achieving this certification was not just a formality, but the result of a committed process, thorough auditing, and continuous improvement. At Cerdá, we worked on:

  • 📋 Identifying and tracing FSC-certified materials throughout our supply chain.
  • 🔍 Implementing physical and documentary control systems to ensure separation between certified and non-certified materials.
  • 🧩 Training the teams involved in purchasing, production, and quality.
  • ✅ Successfully passing an external audit that verified compliance with the rigorous FSC® standards.

4.  Importance and benefits of the FSC® Chain of Custody certification

The FSC® Chain of Custody (CoC) certification is more than a label on our products—it is a tangible guarantee that each step of the production process meets stringent sustainability and environmental responsibility standards. With this certification, Cerdá Group ensures full traceability of forest materials used in its stationery line, from responsibly managed forests to the final product in consumers’ hands.

This traceability is essential to provide transparency and build trust with our clients and business partners. Knowing that the paper and other materials come from FSC®-certified sources means supporting practices that conserve biodiversity, protect the rights of local communities, and promote forest regeneration.

Additionally, CoC certification drives stricter internal management, requiring the company to implement physical and documentary controls that prevent the mixing of certified and non-certified materials. This strengthens brand credibility and optimizes operational processes.

From an environmental perspective, this certification contributes directly to forest ecosystem conservation and the fight against deforestation—one of today’s major global challenges. From a business standpoint, the FSC® certification opens doors to more demanding markets where sustainability is a key requirement in supplier and product selection.

 5. Cerdá Group and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

At Cerdá Group, our vision goes beyond offering quality products—we strive to be active agents in building a sustainable future for all. Obtaining the FSC® Chain of Custody certification clearly reflects how we align our operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those focused on responsible production and consumption (SDG 12), climate action (SDG 13), and life on land (SDG 15).

This international recognition reinforces our commitment to minimizing environmental impact, protecting forests, and fostering business practices that respect both nature and local communities. It also positions Cerdá within a global network of companies working together to promote transparent and responsible supply chains.

 6. Conclusion: Doing better, one product at a time

Every product we create is an opportunity to make a difference. The FSC® Chain of Custody certification is not just another badge—it is a commitment to sustainability, transparency, and ethics behind every notebook, folder, or stationery item.

At Cerdá Group, we believe small gestures add up to big changes. That’s why we continue moving forward in our journey toward a more responsible company—where every decision matters and every product reflects our values.

Life’s Little Changes is more than a slogan—it’s a philosophy that drives us to improve every day, proving that caring for the planet and delivering quality can go hand in hand. With this certification, we reaffirm that we are doing better—one product at a time.

One more step on our journey

This certification strengthens our environmental commitment and advances our sustainability strategy, aligned with the SDGs and the principles of the UN Global Compact.

Because we know that every small gesture counts, and that every product is a chance to do things better.

Life’s Little Changes.
