At Cerdá, we know that building company culture doesn’t always require grand speeches. Sometimes, all it takes is a ladle, an apron, and a genuine desire to share. That’s why, for the second year in a row, our Arroz con Cosas Contest is not just a culinary anecdote — it’s a tangible expression of how we understand teamwork, closeness, and the value of the small things that bring us together.
At Cerdá, we believe that the best ideas —and the best teams— simmer slowly. And that’s not just a metaphor. For the second consecutive year, we’ve held our now-iconic Arroz con Cosas Contest — an event where talent, creativity and camaraderie come together in the kitchen (and around the table).
What began as a casual way to unwind has become a true tradition — one that, ladle in hand, serves the real flavour of our company culture.
Cooking has a special power: it brings people together, levels the playing field, creates space for laughter, debate and mutual discovery. And that’s exactly what you feel during this contest. Colleagues from different departments team up, organise themselves, cook and proudly present their dishes (sometimes with a healthy dose of competitiveness).
The result? A collaborative environment outside the daily routine, where authentic connections emerge — and then carry over naturally into the workplace.
Beyond the flavour of the dishes, what we truly celebrate is team spirit. Each recipe becomes an excuse to share, discuss, propose ideas, take on roles… And at the end of the day, what matters most isn’t who wins — but everything that’s shared along the way.
These kinds of activities foster collective intelligence, break down hierarchical barriers, and strengthen emotional engagement with the company.
At Cerdá, we’ve been working for years to build a culture rooted in respect, creativity, closeness and commitment. Events like this help us bring those values to life through concrete actions.
The contest also reflects how we understand leadership: shared, participative and approachable. Because yes, it’s about cooking — but it’s also about listening, deciding, organising, collaborating… skills that we put into practice every day in our projects.
This second edition was yet another example of the company culture we’re building together — one that promotes well-being, creativity and mutual recognition.
Because team building doesn’t require large budgets. All you need is a simple, well-thought-out idea that connects with people. That — and a good paella.
From the jury to the presentations, the dish names to the plating… everything is part of the experience. An experience where everyone gets involved and feels like a protagonist.
The 2nd Arroz con Cosas Contest was, once again, a resounding success. Because beyond the taste, it left us with something you can’t measure in spoonfuls: emotional connection, team cohesion and a strong sense of belonging.
And at Cerdá, we’re certain of one thing: here, cooking is also a way of building a company. And above all, it’s one more Life’s Little Moment to cherish.
