These stories marked a high point for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) that might be difficult to top… is it?
Ok, first of all, don’t panic! We’ve got you covered.
In the last San Diego Comic-Con, Disney and Marvel announced their plans to expand their universe (and certainly other ones), with a series of new movies and TV Shows that will complement what they have created so far. So here they are:
Since her first appearance in 2012’s The Avengers, Natasha Romanoff has been a vital character for the MCU. So, it was only natural how difficult it was for all of us (spoiler alert!) to see her sacrifice in EndGame. Despite all of this, we will still get to see her again in May 2020, in her own movie, an origins story portraying her life as an agent in Russia. Along with Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour (Jim Hopper from Stranger Things) will be present playing Red Guardian.
Die-hard fans have been waiting for Marvel to tell the story of the Eternals, a series of nearly immortal and incredibly powerful supernatural characters that have been around almost from the creation of the very universe. The cast for this film is unbelievable! The release date is scheduled for autumn of next year (2020).
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Shang-Chi is a martial arts master who is on a quest to defeat The Ten Rings, a malicious global organization. They are lead by The Mandarin, one of the most precise, intelligent and evil villains in the universe of Marvel (the complete opposite of the fake Mandarin we saw in Iron Man 3). This is going to be the first movie from the MCU with a majority of Asian artists, emulating what was done with Black Panther in 2018.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
The second installment of the Dr. Strange saga will feature Benedict Cumberbatch in his role of Dr. Steven Strange and, according to appointed director Scott Derrickson, this is going to be the first “scary” movie of the MCU. Scarlett Witch will be part of the production and the movie will be linked directly to Disney+’s WandaVision tv series. The release date is scheduled for May 2021.
Thor: Love and Thunder
In addition to Chris Hemsworth as Thunder God Thor and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, the fourth Thor movie will bring back Natalie Portman in her role as Jane Foster and an amazing female Thor. This sounds fantastic! The movie will be premiered on November 2021.
Black Panther 2
The success of the first Black Panther movie was just enough to program a second volume from Wakanda’s King and ultimate warrior T'Challa. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 2022.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3
There is nothing much we can say about the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy saga, but it could be safe to say that major characters such as Star-Lord, Rocket, Gamora, Drax and Groot are on the plans. We don’t even know if Thor is going to be there! The only thing we know is that it will be released in Spring 2022.
A re-imagination of Vampire-hunting vigilante Blade is something we all have been expecting. Now, replacing Wesley Snipes we have Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, who is not new for Marvel, portraying in 2016 to Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, Harlem’s top gangster and Luke Cage’s #1 Enemy.
Now that you know about the upcoming trends that will mark the sales in the following years, it is time for you to stock your store with the hottest Marvel products, this is just the right thing to do!
