1 June 2023 / per Cerdá Group

Monitoring the processes carried out in any company is one of the keys to their success. In this post we would like to tell you what a monitoring audit of an integrated management system is and all the benefits it can bring to your organisation.

1. What is a follow-up audit of the integrated management system?
2. Benefits of the follow-up audit
3. The importance of auditing in our company
4. The 2023 results

Nueva llamada a la acción1. What is a follow-up audit of the integrated management system?

This is a process in which the effectiveness and compliance of a management system in an organisation is assessed. This type of audit is carried out after a management system, such as ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management), has been implemented and certified.

The objective of the follow-up audit is to verify whether the organisation continues to comply with the requirements established by the management system and whether the expected results are being achieved. Documents, records, procedures and staff interviews are reviewed to assess the effectiveness of the measures implemented.

The follow-up auditor identifies any deviations or areas for improvement and issues a detailed report with recommendations for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the management system. These audits are conducted on a regular basis, usually annually, to ensure that the organisation remains in compliance with standards and achieves its management objectives.

2. Benefits of the follow-up audit

The effort is worthwhile because there are many benefits to be gained from implementing such audits:

  1. Identification of areas for improvement: Allows the identification of possible gaps or deficiencies in the management system, providing the opportunity to implement improvements and correct any non-conformities.

  2. Compliance with regulatory requirements: The follow-up audit ensures that the organisation complies with the requirements set by applicable standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001. This helps to maintain the organisation's certification and reputation.

  3. Continuous improvement: By assessing the effectiveness of the management system, the follow-up audit provides valuable information for the continuous improvement of processes and procedures. It identifies opportunities to optimise efficiency, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction.

  4. Risk management: Helps to assess the effectiveness of measures implemented to identify and manage risks associated with the organisation's activities. It allows to detect areas where more attention is required to eliminate potential risks.

3. The importance of auditing in our company

At Cerdá Group we have ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. And to check that our quality and environmental management processes remain the same or that we can improve them, every two years we carry out follow-up audits of the Integrated Management System.

To this end, we focus on:

- Quality management: Quality is very important, not only in our products, but also in all our processes. At Cerdá Group we work with other companies that end up being another link in our team. Therefore, all our activity has to be proceduralised. The processes must be as precise as possible and must be complied with. And if during the audit we detect points for improvement, we set about making the necessary changes. Life is evolution!

At Cerdá we know that small details make the difference, which is why we make sure that a Team Leader from each department is aware of the impact of their team's activity within the company's activity so that they can transmit it to the team and take it into account when making decisions.

-Environmental management: Our concern for the environment is constant. Since 2022 we have been ISO 14001 certified, accrediting us as a sustainable and environmentally friendly company. At Cerdá Group we have been carrying out actions to reduce the ecological impact of our company for years and, among other environmental actions carried out, we have remodelled our energy system through the implementation of solar panels and energy systems based on geothermal energy, in the hope of contributing to the reduction of climate change.image-png-Feb-14-2023-10-41-18-9698-AM-1

4. The 2023 results

By this point in the post, you will have realised that it is very important to us that all our processes are efficient and are carried out correctly. That is why this year we have carried out a follow-up audit of the Integrated Management System, and we are very happy with the results! Some of the STRONG POINTS highlighted by AENOR, the consultancy firm in charge of carrying out the audit, are:

- Launch in January 2023 of the Team Leader project to involve everyone in the management system.
- The work being carried out by each department of the organisation to achieve the different programmes of our strategic plan.
- The implementation of product requirements related to: packaging with recycled plastics (or lower grammage), PVC-free hangers; BCI Cotton...
- The development of control guidelines at origin by product category.

AENOR congratulates us because our team is very committed to internal processes; they are aware of them, they get involved in them and present actions for improvement. With such a great team, how could we not be a #BestWorkplaces23?
